Building a Strong Appeal
The single biggest mistake in appeal letters is re-explaining the loss instead of directly rebutting the reason given for denial. Structure your appeal around the insurer's own language: quote the exclusion or limitation they cited, then explain specifically why it doesn't apply.
Attach new evidence rather than repeating what you already submitted — an independent inspection report, a second estimate, or a letter from a treating professional carries more weight than a strongly worded restatement.
Keep a copy of everything you send and note the date. Many policies have a limited window to appeal, and a paper trail matters if the appeal itself is later disputed.
